Laker Welcome Day is Monday, August 24, with scheduled appointments between 11:00 AM and 7:00 PM. Please keep in mind that this is not a full day of school; however, all students in grades 4K–12 are required to report at their scheduled appointment time. The first “regular” full day of school/summer school, when buses will be running, will be Wednesday, August 26.
Classroom teachers and middle/high school advisors will meet with students and parents at scheduled times throughout the day to privately discuss grade-level expectations and classroom curriculum. This is a great opportunity for parents and students to meet one-on-one with their teacher and explore the classroom in an informal setting. Middle and high school students will receive their class schedules, locker assignments, and Chromebooks during their scheduled meeting with their advisor. Most visits will take at least one hour, but please plan for additional time if possible.
Office personnel will be available during Welcome Day to help set up Family Access accounts and collect lunch and milk money. A Kobussen representative will also be present to answer bus-related questions.
Cahill Studios will be set up in the Elementary Gym to take school pictures of students in grades 4K–12 throughout the event. The ordering process has changed. All orders will now be placed after picture day. Photo galleries will be available online 2–5 business days after picture day. Watch your email for a link to view and order your photos!
Cahill Studios will send you a picture day reminder one week before picture day from the following email address: no-reply@imagequix.com. Please keep an eye out for this email! You will be able to view more than 100 FREE background options so you can choose one that best coordinates with your child’s outfit.
Don't like your first-day photos? No problem! Wait to purchase your photos, and your child can have their picture taken on retake day, Wednesday, September 23.
