This week, Turtle Lake School District proudly hosted our annual Veterans Day Program, and we wanted to share some photos from the event. We were honored to welcome veterans from Turtle Lake Post 137 who joined us for this special event. ❤️🤍💙

🎵🌟 On Saturday, November 8th, Michael Quechulpa Lee represented Turtle Lake incredibly, performing with the UW–Eau Claire High School Honors Band! 🎺👏 Michael was one of over 400 talented students from Wisconsin and Minnesota selected for this prestigious event. What an amazing accomplishment! 🙌💛❤️

Turtle Lake Students at the Shell Lake Arts Center Middle School Band Festival! ✨🎶
On Thursday, November 6th, three of our outstanding middle school musicians represented Turtle Lake at the Shell Lake Arts Center Middle School Band Festival! 🥁🎵 These talented students were selected for their musical excellence and hard work:
🎼 Paige Schallock – Bass Clarinet
🎼 Gretchen Molls – Percussion
🎼 Raphael Albano – Bassoon
They spent the day rehearsing with other top student musicians and capped it off with an amazing concert performance that evening! Way to represent Turtle Lake with pride and passion, we’re so proud of you! 💛🐢❤️
📚✨ Author Visit: Mat Heagerty Inspires Turtle Lake Students! ✨📚
On November 5th, author Mat Heagerty visited Turtle Lake Elementary to share his story and creativity with our students! 🙌 Mat is the author of Lumberjackula (on this year’s Battle of the Books list!) and several other graphic novels. He spoke about his journey from a struggling dyslexic student to a published author. 💪
He encouraged students to embrace mistakes, accept help, work as a team, and advocate for themselves, all while showing how a graphic novel comes to life through live illustrations based on student ideas! 🎨🖊️
🍎💬 Fourteen lucky students even got to have lunch and a special Q&A with Mat in the IMC! ➡️ Swipe to see the three awesome drawings our Turtle Lake students created with Mat! You’ll love seeing their ideas come to life! 👏

FFA Volleyball Fun! 🌾🏐 💛 The Turtle Lake FFA hit the court in Amery for a friendly volleyball tournament against other area FFA chapters! They had an awesome time competing, connecting, and showing that Laker spirit. 🙌
🎶 Spanish III students joined Locotubre, an international music competition where students listened to and ranked songs from across the Spanish-speaking world. 🌎🎵
🏆 Congratulations to McKayla Pittman, who took the championship title with the best bracket in our Turtle Lake Spanish III class! McKayla has an incredible ear for music and a great sense of rhythm!👏

Learning meets lunch! 🌱 Our horticulture students have been busy growing hydroponic lettuce right in the classroom. This week, they harvested their crop to share with the food service team. Now their hard work is being enjoyed by students at the salad bar! 🥗💚 Yummmmmm!

🎄 🎅 The Turtle Lake Jingle Bell Run is back and is only ONE MONTH away! 🏃♂️
Last year’s Jingle Bell Run helped fund the Turtle Lake School Track Revitalization Project, and thanks to your support, our track is now complete! 🐢🏃♂️ This year, the 2nd Annual Turtle Lake Jingle Bell Run & Kids Fun Run will raise funds to help the Village of Turtle Lake update the Village Park.💛

🚜 Real-World Ag Experience! 🌾 Students in the Livestock Management class recently took a trip to Northwood Technical College as part of their dual credit program!
During their visit, students got hands-on experience using simulators to deliver a calf and inseminate a cow, as well as the opportunity to work with preserved reproductive tracts. What an incredible way to apply classroom learning to real-world agricultural science! 🐄👏
