🎉 Congratulations, Callan! 🎉

Callan brightens the classroom with his jokes and is always willing to lend a helping hand to a friend. 🫶 He is a great friend to all of his classmates and has a very big heart. He also asks lots of questions about reading, math, and science. 👏

Our 6th-graders have had a great time creating their own board games in art class! ♟️🎲 They came up with a variety of themes for their games and enjoyed playing them together at the end of the week. This lesson was a wonderful opportunity for students to tap into their creativity and have fun! 😊 ❤️

🎨🎶 Youth Art Month & Music in Our Schools Month: March 26 🎶🎨

The fourth graders have been extra busy in the art room! They have created beautiful watercolor paintings of birch trees.

They began by taping off sections for their trees and then painted vibrant colors for their backgrounds. Once dried, they peeled off the tape, revealing clean spaces for their trees. They added final details to their birch trees with black ink. This was a very fun project for everyone, and they turned out beautifully! 🤩👏Check out their work‼️

🎨🎶 Youth Art Month & Music in Our Schools Month: March 25 🎶🎨

The second- and third-grade classes have enjoyed creating their own winter-themed landscapes. The students were able to choose which decorative paper they used for their trees, and used white acrylic paint for snowflakes in the background. The students had so much fun creating their landscapes! ❄️🥶

Although winter has been a blast, our Lakers are ready for spring! We can't wait to see what they will create next! 💛❤️

Our Spanish II students recently wrapped up the international music bracket competition, Locura de Marzo. We joined over 1,300 schools around the world! 🎶🌎 In this competition, students listened to songs from the Spanish-speaking world, with two songs going head-to-head each day as students worldwide voted for their favorites.

Our students created their own brackets to predict the winners and learned to express their opinions about the songs in Spanish. They also explored the artists’ backgrounds, their home countries, and even learned some of the lyrics! It was a fun and immersive way to engage with music and culture. 🇪🇸🎤🎶

Our Turtle Lake Spanish II winner this year was Mylee Pittman—¡Felicidades!

Turtle Lake School District has been lucky to have Mr. Kent Kindschy in the district for the past 13 years! 💛❤️ Every quarter, Mr. Kindschy hosts “Walk-A-Mile,” where he randomly draws a staff member and takes over their job for the day!

Last week, he stepped into Ms. Candace Hassle’s role as a paraprofessional in the 4K classroom with Mrs. Hoffman. He spent the day with the 4K students and even joined them on a jungle hunt using binoculars they made! 🌿🤩

We would like to thank our incredible superintendent, Mr. Kindschy, for his dedication to leadership and positivity within the Turtle Lake School District. His willingness to connect with students and staff in such a fun and meaningful way is truly appreciated by our school community! 💛🐢❤️
