AP Language and Composition is all about the art of writing. In this AP class students will read, critique and analyze why the authors did what they did when writing. We will also look at a variety of sources of texts to learn about the art of persuasion and the power of words. Some things to look forward to, not in any particular order, are:
- Reading inaugural addresses
- Reading the text Nickel and Dimed
- Reading the text Into the Wild or Into Thin Air
- Reading the text The Catcher and the Rye
- Working on writing speeches: turning one topic from persuasive to informative
- Political Cartoons
