Class of 2023: Polk-Burnett Electric Cooperative is now accepting online applications for its Community Service Scholarship Program. The co-op will award $1,500 scholarships to 95 students in the Class of 2025, for a total of $127,500. Scholarship candidates are also invited to apply for the 2025 Youth Tour of Washington, D.C. Two trips will be awarded, valued at $2,500 each.

Polk-Burnett’s scholarship program is based on community service, not academic grades, athletic performance or financial need. Candidates are required to submit a community service resume. In addition, candidates must be 1) the child or legal dependent of a Polk-Burnett Electric Cooperative member, 2) graduating from high school in 2025 and 3) continuing education at an accredited technical school, college or university after high school.

WISA is once again, awarding one $1500 scholarship award to a deserving son/daughter of an active-duty police department member and one $1500 scholarship award to a son/daughter of an active-duty fire department member. Since 2010 WISA has awarded $45,000 in scholarships. Deadline is March 1 to address listed.

The Coca-Cola Scholars Program scholarship is an achievement-based scholarship awarded to graduating high school seniors. Students are recognized for their capacity to lead and serve, as well as their commitment to making a significant impact on their schools and communities. With the 35nd class in 2025, the Foundation has provided over 6,300 Coca-Cola Scholars with more than $72 million in educational support. 150 Coca-Cola Scholars are selected each year to receive this $20,000 scholarship. • Current high school seniors, or the equivalent, who are citizens of the United States are eligible to apply.
• Applicants need not be related to a member of the Elks.
• High school graduates are not eligible to apply.

The program guarantees scholarships and grants to pay for tuition & segregated fees for students whose household adjusted gross income (AGI) is $65,000 or less. Incoming freshmen will receive eight (8) consecutive semesters (4 years) of free tuition & segregated fees and transfer students will receive four (4) semesters (2 years).  You are automatically applying for this scholarship when you submit you application to attend.

The Hagan Scholarship is a nationwide need-based merit scholarship for high achieving, self-motivated students. The scholarship provides up to $7,500 each semester, for up to eight consecutive semesters, to help recipients graduate college debt free. Over Eight Hundred Hagan Scholars from 49 states are currently attending 637 colleges and universities.

Recipients must graduate from a public high school located in a county having fewer than 50,000 residents and enroll at a four-year not-for-profit college or university the first semester following high school graduation. Scholarship benefits include Free Workshops, Schwab Accounts, and Study Abroad; providing recipients with a practical understanding of important life skills not typically taught as a part of the school curriculum. 

The Wisconsin School Counselor Association (WSCA), in partnership with Xello & Method Learning, has established the WSCA High School Scholarship Program to assist students with their post-secondary education.

The Jackie Robinson Foundation scholarship is open for graduating, minority HS seniors.  These scholars receive grants up to $35,000 over 4 years.  

The Foundation of the Wisconsin Automobile & Truck Dealers is pleased to announce that scholarships will be available in 2025 for graduating high school seniors, adult students and continuing technical college students who are pursuing a career in the auto and truck industry. Scholarship winners will receive grants of $1,450 per year for four years of college or university study, if they remain eligible.

Only high school seniors are eligible to apply, and only if a parent qualifies in one of these membership categories: an active WEAC member, an active retired member, or a parent who died while holding a WEAC membership.

In addition, the student must rank in the top 25% of his or her class or have achieved a 3.0 cumulative grade point average (based on a non-weighted 4.0 scale) at the time of application, plan to pursue an education major or minor, and intend to teach in Wisconsin.

The local chapter of NWTF is looking for a Turtle Lake student who loves the outdoors.  This scholarship has many levels to it.  There is the $500 local level and then the $1000 state level.  Then there is also a $10,000 national level.  This scholarship is well worth your time to fill out. The Amery Hospital and Clinic is sponsoring a $500 for a Turtle Lake student who is pursuing a career in the medical field.  Application deadline is March 1st to Mr. Schneider.

As one of the nation's largest need-based college scholarship programs in the country, the Horatio Alger Scholarship Programs specifically assist high school students who have faced and overcome great obstacles in their young lives. While many programs are directed primarily to recognizing academic achievement or leadership potential, the Horatio Alger Association seeks students who have exhibited determination, integrity, and perseverance in overcoming adversity, as well as have critical financial need.

This scholarship is intended for a graduate of TLHS. Donna was a beloved member of the TL community who worked at the school as a paraprofessional for many years. Deadline is March 7^th to Mr. Schneider.

Here are the applicant requirements:

• The high school senior has lived in rural Wisconsin for at least two years. "Rural" is defined as traditional rural areas and rural towns with a population of 25,000 or less.
• The high school senior is attending a public or private school or is being home-schooled in Wisconsin.
• The high school senior is pursuing post-secondary education and plans on returning to rural Wisconsin upon graduation.
• The high school senior will pursue a degree in a field that will support the economy and well-being of rural communities in Wisconsin. This includes fields in agriculture, healthcare, large animal veterinary care, environmental studies, and sustainable practices.

• The high school senior has financial need.

Two letters of recommendation are required.

The Al Leisz Memorial Scholarship is a "needs based" scholarship, meaning that preference will be given to students who can show finanacial hardship.  Deadline for this TLHS scholarship will be March  7 and should be handed in to Mr. Schneider.  

This scholarship is intended for a Turtle Lake student who will be attending a technical college in the fall.  It will cover tuition and books for the 1st year.  Deadline is March 15 to Mr. Schneider.

This scholarship is intended only for Turtle Lake students who will be furthering their education at either a technical college or a 4-year institution.  Deadline is March 15 to Mr. Schneider.

The Go Wisconsin 2025 Emma D. Boettiger Scholarship was established to encourage the pursuit of a post-secondary degree at the Universities of Wisconsin. The scholarship will award two academic scholarships to Wisconsin high school students who plan to enroll at a Universities of Wisconsin institution beginning Fall 2025 term. The scholarships are given in memory of Emma Boettiger’s sister, Nettie Dieckmann, and nephew, Freddie Dieckmann.

The scholarship is a four-time award of $2,000 (awarded in two disbursements each year over the course of four consecutive years, $1,000 for the fall semester and $1,000 for the spring semester). Recipients must provide proof of enrollment each year, once for the fall term and again for the spring term before scholarship funds are disbursed.

Go Wisconsin utilizes a holistic review process to determine the 2025 Emma D. Boettiger Scholarship recipients. Students interested in applying for the 2025 Emma D. Boettiger Scholarship should fill out the application form and submit all required documents. The Go Wisconsin Scholarship Committee will monitor the selection process.

ELIGIBILITY AND SELECTION GUIDELINE:
The following qualities will be taken into consideration in the selection process:

• Applicant must currently be a Wisconsin high school senior (12th grade) student.

This scholarship is intended only for Turtle Lake seniors. Preference will be given to students who will be going into the field of teaching or education. The value of this scholarship is $6000.  Deadline is March 28 to Mr. Schneider.

The Polk County Historical Society is offering the first ever Glassel-Hofmann Family College scholarship to eligible Polk County seniors in 2025. This need-based scholarship is being offered to students who will be attending a post-secondary institution (ex. technical school, community college, or four-year university). We are asking each student to submit a short essay along with the cover sheet and a picture.
Essay: Describe your future goals, what attending post-secondary school will mean to you, and how this scholarship can help you achieve your goals. No more than 1,000 words. No handwritten essays accepted. Include your name, high school, a waiver stating your essay is your original work on the separate cover sheet.

The Turtle Lake Music Boosters will consider applicants for a Music Booster Scholarship. This scholarship is non-recurring and is intended to pay for education (college or career/technical school) in the student’s first year after high school. The scholarship is based on participation in the music department and academic merit.

Essay: 

• Pick a historical item (individual person, family, event, business, art creation, landmark, etc..) and explain the contribution [he, she, they, it] has made or given to Polk County Wisconsin. The historical item of selection must have a significant association with Polk County Wisconsin.

Then, relate the successes, failures or other information gathered to your personal life, experiences, or ideologies.

Scholarship due date: April 18, 2025.   Scholarship amount: $1,000.00. 

Deadline to apply for the NTC  General Scholarship fund is April 22.  Many scholarships are available.

This scholarship is for TLHS students who plan on furthering their education at either a university or technical school.  Preference will be given to students who have shown a spirit of volunteerism.  Please submit completed application to Mr. Schneider before April 28.  

In order to qualify for this scholarship, you must be a senior at Turtle Lake High School who is currently involved in our Youth Apprenticeship program and who plans on attending post-secondary education.

This $250 scholarship is intended for a Turtle Lake student who will be graduating in the class of 2025  and going into one of these fields:

1) Fire Safety

2) Police and/or EMT

3) Nursing

4) any other health-related field.

The applicant should show in their application their dedication for volunteering and desire to help others.

Requirements

1. Visual Arts Program Major including Art Therapy.
2. Evidence of involvement in activities in the school or community.
3. Autobiography: Submit a 1-2 page autobiography recognizing your activities, community service awards, reasons for pursuing a degree in the visual arts and how you plan on using your knowledge and skills upon graduation.
4. 2 letters of recommendation. (at least one from an art instructor).

The Ab Nicholas Scholarship Foundation seeks to make a college degree affordable for Wisconsin high school students who participate as players or managers in their school’s basketball program. Need-based scholarships, renewable annually, are offered for two- and four-year programs at any University of Wisconsin System school.

The Ab Nicholas Scholarship Foundation accepts applications from qualifying seniors each year between February 1 and April 30. Scholarship recipients will be notified no later than June 30th at the email address on file.

Foremost Media is excited to support a student in their quest to better their lives through higher education. With that in mind, we launched our Annual Foremost Media $500 Scholarship Award in 2019. We award at least one scholarship each year on June 1 to dedicated students who are pursuing or intend to pursue an undergraduate degree in Marketing or Web Development.

Joe Kasper was a prominent volunteer with the Island City Snowmobile and ATV Club. Joe tragically passed away in a UTV accident on November 29th, 2020. He spent countless hours volunteering to help keep our trails in great shape. This scholarship is dedicated to Joe’s memory. Preference will be given to those seeking a degree from a trade school, vocational school, or a technical school, in addition to those who can demonstrate a high level of volunteer work or community involvement. The Island City Snowmobile and ATV club will award the recipient with a $500 scholarship to be paid during the 2nd semester of their post-secondary program.

What is the Law Enforcement Foundation of Barron County?
The Law Enforcement Foundation of Barron County, founded in 2009, is an independent,
non-profit, charitable organization dedicated to fostering public safety through
community building, education, and outreach. In concert with area police departments,
the foundation works with a range of community safety advocates to develop and
implement public safety and crime prevention programs.
You are eligible for this scholarship if you meet the following criteria:
• You are currently a High School Senior in Barron County
• You will be attending post-secondary education next year either at a 4-year
University or 2 Year Vocational/Technical and majoring in police science, criminal
justice, or a law enforcement-related field.
• Your career aspiration is to become a Police Officer
Who selects the scholarship winners?
Scholarship recipients are selected by the members of the Law Enforcement Foundation
of Barron County Governance Board. The Scholarship Committee reserves the right to
determine the number and amount of scholarships to be awarded in a given year.
How to Apply:

Who is eligible to apply?

Any Barron County High School senior may apply seeking post-secondary education.  Preferences will NOT be given based on area of study.  All are encouraged to apply.

 How many scholarships will be awarded?

Two separate $600.00 scholarships will be awarded.

Deadline is May 9 to Mr. Schneider.

Each year, in partnership with Rural Mutual Insurance Company and Scott Construction, the Wisconsin Towns Association offers seven $1,000 scholarships to students who are graduating from a Wisconsin public or private high school and will be attending a Wisconsin public or private college or university in the fall of that year. Applicants are required to write a 500-1000 word essay on a specific topic that relates to town government. Proof of enrollment in a Wisconsin private or public college is required.  

This year's essay is "What are 3 top priorities your local town government officials should pursue to improve the quality of life in your community".
